Local farmers are worried that their crops could be destroyed by protesters when they attack the power station.

Kingsnorth is one of four power stations on the Hoo peninsular in Kent. It sits between the rivers Medway and Thames and provides electricity to 1.5 million households in the area.

Kingsnorth will be the first power station in the UK to trial carbon capture storage if it gets approval from the Government later this year.

Heavy security is being placed around the site in preperation for the protesters at next weeks climate camp. A second security fence has been errected around the power station and was sill being constructed days before protesters are due to arrive.

E.ON the German company that owns the coal-fired powerstation in Kent has taken out an injunction against the climate camp protesters to prevent them enter the plant and disrupting it's operation.

Climate Camp leaders have kept the location of this years camp secret until they arrive.
